How The Championship Works

Tournament format at a glance

The Aapli Mumbai Kabaddi Championship (AMKC) has 12 teams divided into 3 pools of 4 teams (Pool A, Pool B, Pool C). Each pool plays a single round-robin league. Top 2 from each pool (6 teams) qualify directly to the Quarter Finals. The remaining 6 teams (bottom 2 per pool) enter fan voting; 2 wildcard teams are selected to complete the Quarter Finals. Quarter Finals (8 teams) Semi Finals (4 teams)Finale (2 teams). Tournament dates: 24–29 March 2026, Mumbai.

League Stage — 12 Teams, 3 Pools

The top 12 teams from the Mumbai Shahar Kabaddi Championship are invited to AMKC. They are divided by the Organising Committee into 3 groups of 4 teams each (Pool A, Pool B, Pool C). Within each pool, teams play a single round-robin league — every team plays every other team in its pool once.

  • Top 2 teams from each pool qualify directly to the Quarter Finals.
  • 6 remaining teams (the non-qualifiers) enter the public voting process for 2 wildcard spots.

Quarter Finals — 8 Teams

The Quarter Finals feature 8 teams — the 6 direct qualifiers from the league stage plus 2 fan-voted wildcard teams drawn from the eliminated sides.

Quarter Final Pairings

  • QF1: Pool A Topper vs Wildcard 1.
  • QF2: Pool B Topper vs Wildcard 2.
  • QF3: Pool C Topper vs Pool B 2nd.
  • QF4: Pool A 2nd vs Pool C 2nd.

Wildcard Entries — Fan Voting

From the six teams eliminated after the league stage, two teams receive a second life through the wildcard route, decided entirely by fan votes.

  • Voting runs from 20th March to 27th March on the tournament website.
  • Fans log in using their Google accounts and vote for their favourite team.
  • The two wildcard teams are announced on 27th March along with the official Quarter Final schedule.

Wildcards are matched against the top-ranked teams from Pool A and Pool B, ensuring the highest-performing league teams face spirited fan-backed challengers.

Semi Finals

The four Quarter Final winners progress to the Semi Finals.

  • Semi Final 1: Winner QF1 vs Winner QF3.
  • Semi Final 2: Winner QF2 vs Winner QF4.

Both Semi Finals are straight knockouts — the winners move into the Finale, the losers finish their AMKC 2026 campaign here.

Grand Finale

The winners of Semi Final 1 and Semi Final 2 face off in the Grand Finale to decide the inaugural Aapli Mumbai Kabaddi Championship title.

Every raid, tackle, and powerplay counts — this is where Mumbai's best club earns the right to be called AMKC Champions.
